Obituary For John Haywood Abraham

Entered into rest on February 21, 2013 in Redwood City, CA at the age of 84. Devoted husband of 61 years to Shirley M. Abraham. Beloved father of John (Brenda) Abraham, Jr., Ricky Abraham, Sr., and Susan Ingebretsen. Cherished grandfather of Becky, Michael, Ricky, Jr., Lindsay, David, and Brian. Great-grandfather of 9. Treasured brother of Bob (Julie) Abraham, and Gary (Ann) Bridge.

Born October 21, 1928 in Oakland, CA, John was a U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII and the Korean War. Upon his return he worked as a traffic supervisor for General Motors for 35 years. He was a member of Acacia Lodge #243, past master of Gemini Lodge in Fremont, and past patron of Orient Chapter of Eastern Star in Fremont. He loved fishing, and spending time with his family especially his grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held for John on Saturday, March 2, 1pm at Fremont Chapel of the Roses, 1940 Peralta Blvd., Fremont, CA 94536. Inurnment at Grass Valley Foresters Cemetery in Grass Valley, CA.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of John to Shriners Hospitals for Children® ? Northern California, 2425 Stockton Blvd., Sacramento, CA 95817.

    I have always loved Jack, he was the best Father-in-Law a girl could have had, he was always good to me and I will miss knowing his sweet soul! His presence will be felt though, cannot keep a sweet soul quiet. Love to the family, hugs and kisses. all my love, Peggie

    The world will miss this caring & giving man along with his incredible sense of humor & timing. During my teenage years, this man was like a 2nd father to me. He will truely be missed. My condolences to Shirley, John, Rick & Susan and the rest of the family. - Frank

    We enjoyed knowing Jack and enjoyed the time we spent at the grandchildren's games and events and the family gatherings. Our thoughts and prayers are with all the family.
