Jose Carmen Rodriguez-Covarrubio of Fremont passed away on April 4, 2023 at the age of 82. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Manuela Rodriguez, and his children, Rocio Quiñonez (David), Lilia Pentacoff (David), Gerardo Rodriguez (Lisa), Luis Rodriguez Sr. (Rosemary Aguilar), Gilberto Rodriguez (Josefina). Also survived by his siblings, Refugia Nakata, Jose Rodriguez & Agustin Rodriguez; Grandchildren: Alejandro Haro, Enrique & Isabela Quiñonez, Brittany, Brandon Angela & Paulina Pentacoff, Shante & Brandon Moudy, Mariah & Bradley Parkins, Arianna Rodriguez, Vanessa & Dalton Petterson, Leticia Rodriguez, Luis Rodriguez Jr, Analisa Rodriguez & Richard Cline, David & Jessica Aguilar, Monica Rodriguez & D’Andre Scott, Andres Rodriguez, Gilberto Rodriguez and 8 Great Grandchildren: Marcus, Elijah, Jordan, Noah, Levi, Aaliyah, Carmelo & Lincoln. Preceded in death by his parents: Agustin & Maria Refugia Rodriguez, and Siblings: Guadalupe Martinez, Dolores & Jesus Rodriguez.

Born in La Cañada de Caracheo, Guanajuato, Mexico and came to live in Niles in 1958. He worked in the Construction Industry as a Carpenter for over 40+ years. He was a dedicated husband and father with a great sense of humor and big heart. He enjoyed spending time helping his family. But most of all he loved spoiling his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Religious man in his own way his faith never wavered despite his illness. He was devoted to Fray Elias Nieves and Virgen De Dolores, the patron saints of his home town of La Cañada de Caracheo.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 12 from 5-8pm with a Vigil Service starting at 6:30pm at Fremont Chapel of the Roses, 1940 Peralta Blvd. in Fremont. A Funeral Mass is scheduled for Thursday, April 13, 12pm at Corpus Christi Parish, 37891 2nd St. in Fremont. A burial at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Hayward will follow.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested a donation to St. Jude Hospital on his behalf.
