Obituary For Jose Roberto Gonzalez

Jose Robert Gonzalez died peacefully on Sunday morning, October 21, 2012 in the comfort of his home and surrounded by family in Newark, California.

Robert grew up on a small ranch in Nuevo Leon, Mexico with his parents and five siblings. At the age of 21, Robert came to the United States with his bride, Alma Aurora, and two children. They eventually settled in Newark, California.

Robert came to the United States with little education but had a dream to make a good life for his wife and children. With hard work, determination and encouragement from his wife and friends, Robert was able to obtain his dream of having a good job and owning his own home. Robert worked as a dry wall hanger in the construction industry for almost 30 years.

Robert loved to go deer hunting and fishing with his friends. Robert was the kind of friend you could always count on to help in any situation and at any time of the day or night.

Robert was a wonderful father to his four daughters and son and worked tirelessly to provide a good life for each of them. Robert was also blessed with four granddaughters and one grandson.

Robert was a loving husband who adored his wife and a terrific father to his children. He lived his life with great integrity, character and showed kindness, generosity to others....traits that all of us should aspire to have.

Robert is survived by his bride of 49 years, Alma Aurora and his surviving children, Alma Montemayor, Martha Mendez, Jackie Gomez and Robert Gonzalez. His daughter, Shannon Montemayor precedes him in death. He is survived by his five grandchildren, Christina Mendez, Daniela Montemayor, Jonathan Gomez, Isabella Gomez and Jacqueline Gomez.

Chapel Service will be held on Thursday, October 25, 10:30am at Fremont Memorial Chapel, 3723 Peralta Blvd., Fremont, CA 94536. Reception to follow. Burial at 2pm at Lone Tree Cemetery in Hayward, CA.

    The Gonzalez Family has been in our lives for a very long time. Roberto and my dad has always set a huge example as how a man can provide for his family with what little they had and made us feel so safe in life. We are going to miss Roberto He will always be in our prayers, thoughts, we will always treasure those memories and we are so grateful that we were blessed to have him in our lives. The Donato?s
