Obituary For Jose Silveira Martins
Jose Silveira Martins entered into internal Heaven to be with our Lord on February 14, 2021. He came to America on October 19, 1961 and resided in the city of Newark for 59 years. He worked as a cement finisher for 25+ years, he was an avid soccer enthusiast and enjoyed volunteering countless hours to Newark Portuguese Soccer Club, Portuguese Athletic Club in San Jose, and SDES Holy Ghost of Alvarado.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years Gloria Martins, daughter Carol Tate (Tony Tate), daughter Valerie Sao (Tino Sao), son Joe Martins Jr. (Mikhael Martins). Grandchildren; Tino Sao Jr., Kayla Tate, Anthony Sao, Jesse Tate, Darrian Martins and Sanoe Martins. Great-grandchildren Leila Tate, Kynoah Sao, Mikah Sao, Koah Kallas and Kamaiyah Sao. He is survived by 2 sisters, 2 brothers, several nieces, nephews and godchildren.
Jose is predeceased by his parents Antonio and Filomena Martins, his brothers Mario and John, his in-laws Antonio and Leopoldina Pimentel and brother-in-law Jose Pimentel.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 22, 2021, 12PM, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church 37588 Fremont Boulevard, Fremont, with a Rosary and a Funeral Mass at 12:30 PM. Burial to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Hayward.
