Obituaries

Entered into rest on May 4, 2012 in Fremont at the age of 58. Beloved son of Albert Macari. Treasured brother of Philip Macari and his wife Gloria. Dear uncle of Deborah Mercado and her husband Richard, and Denise Schmidt and her husband Kevin. Survived by grand niece Alexis Schmidt. Cherished nephew of Augustina Turner. Also survived by cousin Josephine Gonzalez. Preceded in death by his mother Yolanda Macari.

Joe was born and raised in San Francisco. He graduated from Cal Berkeley with a Bachelors Degree in electronic engineering. Once out of school he went to work for Lockheed. Years later he started his own business. He had a love for tennis, jazz and gardening. Once he was stricken with diabetes (approximately 10 years ago) he had to give up the game but not the love of it. He has been involved in many hours of volunteer work for various organizations. He will be missed by family and friends.

A memorial service will be held for Joe on Saturday, May 12, 10:30am at Fremont Memorial Chapel, 3723 Peralta Blvd., Fremont, CA 94536. Inurnment at Cypress Lawn Memorial Park in Colma.
