Obituaries

Entered into rest on July 13, 2012 in Tracy at the age of 74. Beloved father of Julie Bussell of Tracy. Cherished grandfather of Sierra Rose Bussell. Dear brother-in-law of Jackie Koep of Tracy. Treasured uncle of Tony Koep of Newark. Preceded in death by his wife Judy Soito in 2007.

La Verne was born and raised in Newark. He graduated from Washington High School. He served our country in the US Army. He retired from Leslie Salt after 37 years. He moved to Tracy with his wife, Judy, and family in May 2000 to live on a ranch in the country. He loved horses and team roping, but the current love of his life was Sierra. His only granddaughter. He spent the last 5 years taking her to and from school. He was even starting to teach her how to drive. He is now at peace and with the love of his life!

Visitation will be held today, Tuesday, July 17, from 5-8pm with a vigil at 7pm at Fremont Chapel of the Roses, 1940 Peralta Blvd., Fremont, CA 94536. Funeral mass will be celebrated tomorrow, Wednesday, July 18, 10:30am at St. Edward's Catholic Church, 5788 Thornton Ave., Newark, CA 94560. Burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Hayward, CA.
