Entered into rest on December 29, 2012 in San Leandro, CA at the age of 86. Beloved mother of LoAnn Bacon. Cherished grandmother of David Metcalf and his wife Peggi. Loving great-grandmother to Melissa Metcalf. Caring great-great grandmother of Michael Lopez, and Zaria Lopez. Predeceased by her daughter Gracie Metcalf. Dear sister of Vernon Erickson. Also survived by nieces and nephews.

Born October 3, 1926 in Marquette, KS, Lela loved to work on jigsaw puzzles, and word puzzles. She enjoyed reading, pottery, and ceramics. She also loved to go to the casinos.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 3, 9am followed by a Chapel Service at 11am, all at Fremont Chapel of the Roses, 1940 Peralta Blvd., Fremont, CA 94536. Burial on Friday, January 4, 11am at Lone Tree Cemetery, 24591 Fairview Ave., Hayward, CA 94542.
