Obituary For Leo Romero Pedroza
Leo began his journey home to The Lord on December 22, 2012 in Fremont at the age of 91. Preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Elda B. Pedroza, in 2008. Beloved father of Ronald B. Pedroza and his wife Amy of Carson City, NV, Trudi M. Robles and her husband Victor of Antioch, Lydia Davichick of Tracy, and Roxane T. Johnson of Fremont. Grandfather of 12 and great-grandfather of 16. Loving brother to Jenny Moreno of Soledad. Also survived by nieces and nephews.
He joined the Army in 1938 where he spent the next 21 years, then retired in Fremont. He has spent much of his time traveling around the United States and Europe. He served his country in three wars, World War II, Korea and Vietnam, and retired as Master Sergeant. He was a very decorated war hero, earning 2 Purple Hearts, Silver Star, Bronze Star and the Russian Order of the Red Star. Leo loved his church, St Leonard's, which he and mom were active members for over 50 years. His other loves were bowling, baseball and watching cowboy movies. His house was always open to friends and family.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 26, from 4-8pm with a Vigil at 7pm at Fremont Chapel of the Roses, 1940 Peralta Blvd., Fremont, CA 94536. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, December 27, 11am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 40382 Fremont Blvd., Fremont, CA 94538. Burial will follow at Irvington Memorial Cemetery in Fremont, CA.
