Leonel R. Terra, 89, of Fremont died October 20, 2021 surrounded by his family including his loving wife Conceicao of 68 years. He was born May 30, 1932 in Faial Azores to Maria da Rosario and Jose Ribeiro Terra, he had 5 siblings (2) brothers and (3) sisters. Leonel is survived by his wife Maria Conceicao, his 5 children (Ana, Maria, Tony, Tina, and Rui) their spouses, his (12) Grandchildren (8) Great Grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, (Leonildo Terra), and 2 sisters, (Filomena Amaral) and (Lina Goulart), and many Nieces and Nephews. He was proceeded in death by his Mother, Father, sister, and younger brother Jose (Joe).
He came to the United States in 1967 and then applied for his family to come to the United States in 1968 for a better life. His first job was as a pipe fitter in Niles, then he started working at Leslie Salt in Newark in 1971 and retired in 1997. Once he retired he enjoyed spending time with his Family, especially his Grandchildren. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, watching soccer (Porto) was his team and of course the Raider games.
Visitation will be on Sunday, November 7, 2021, 2pm-5pm with a Vigil Service at 3pm at Fremont Chapel of the Roses, 1940 Peralta Blvd., Fremont, CA. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, November 8, 2021, 1pm at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 37588 Fremont Blvd, Fremont, CA. A Burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Hayward.

Grandpa, It has been hard these last 2 weeks without you here. I miss your phone calls to come over to fix something for you . I miss seeing you wait for you bus in the mornings .
