Lermanida Pelaez Generoso passed away on May 6, 2022 at 77 years old. She was the beloved mother and mother-in-law of Maritess Rosales Florez and Manuel Luis Florez, loving grandmother to Jesse Thomas Florez and Sierra Calise Florez, sister of Rodolfo P. Generoso, sister and sister-in-law of Alberto P. Generoso and Pilar Y. Generoso, sister of Mary Jane G. Laqui, cousin of Ofelia P. Warren and cousin and aunt to many others. Lermanida is predeceased by her father, Francisco Prieto Generoso, mother, Violeta Pelaez Generoso and brothers Edgardo P. Generoso and William P. Generoso.

Lermanida was a resident of Milpitas, California for 24 years and previously a resident of Fremont, California for over 18 years. She also lived in Florida, South Carolina, Rohnert Park, California and San Francisco, California. Lermanida was born in Mina in the province of Iloilo in the Philippines. She obtained a B.S. in Accounting before coming to the U.S. in 1971. She held various positions in accounting, was a devout Catholic, loved to crochet and do crossword puzzles, enjoyed good food and was very giving and thoughtful of others. She had a laugh that was contagious, so you had to laugh along with her and when she didn’t like something, she was sure to let you know her opinion. She was a participant at Onlok PACE for many years, where she was in involved in countless recreational activities and projects.

The family is incredibly grateful to Onlok Pace and their wonderful team of healthcare workers and caregivers who provided quality care and who truly care about the health, well-being and lives of seniors. Also special thanks to the healthcare workers in Washington Hospital’s ICU and 6th floor West and at Niles Canyon Post Acute, for their truly compassionate care and support during her last days.

A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 from 4–8 PM with a Vigil at 6:30PM at Fremont Chapel of the Roses, 1940 Peralta Blvd., Fremont. A Funeral Mass will be Thursday, May 19 2022 at 10:30AM at Holy Spirit Church, 37588 Fremont Boulevard, Fremont. Burial will be Friday, May 20, 2022 at 1PM at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 26320 Mission Blvd, Hayward, where she will be laid to rest with her parents Francisco and Violeta.
