Obituary For Lillian Peters

Lillian Peters, 76, of Fremont, California, passed away unexpectedly on October 28, 2025.

Lillian was born on April 30, 1949, in Porcupine Plain, Saskatchewan, Canada, to John and Helen Tkachuk, who owned the local grocery store. She grew up in the close-knit prairie community of Porcupine Plain before eventually settling in California, where she built a loving home and a meaningful career.

For many years, Lillian worked in administration at Kaiser Permanente, where her dedication and kindness were appreciated by colleagues and patients alike. Above all, she devoted herself to caring for her family. She was a loving wife, mother, and sister whose warmth, strength, and quiet generosity touched everyone around her.

Lillian was also a voracious reader who found joy in books of every kind and passed along her love of learning to those she loved.

She is survived by her husband, Stanley Peters; her sons, Jon and Neal Peters; and her brother, Melvin Tkachuk. She was predeceased by her parents, John and Helen Tkachuk as well as her brother Eddie.

Lillian will be laid to rest in her hometown of Porcupine Plain, Saskatchewan, beside her family. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Forever loved, forever missed.

I was so very sorry to hear of Lil's passing. She was such a wonderful colleague and friend — kind, capable, and full of life. I will always remember her warmth, her laughter, and the grace she brought to everything she did. Please accept my deepest condolences. My heart goes out to you and your family during this difficult time. May the love of those around you and the many beautiful memories you shared bring you comfort in the days ahead. Our condolences, Stan and family. Sorry for you loss. The other day I saw a picture of you and Lillian, and Jerrold and Karen Lundgard together. You and Lil looked quite happy then. It must have been shortly after you had met in Hines Creek. Lil's passing comes as quite a shock. Ed Mierzewski and family - Irina, Eric and Marcel at Kelowna BC - edchemeng@gmail.com
