I have known Lois (or Adopted Mum as I liked to call her) since I worked with Alan and Donna in the mid-to-late 1980âs. Donna, Alan and I always stayed in contact over the years as we all went our different ways.
In 2001, my own parents purchased a home in Vancouver, WA and moved away. I missed visiting them every weekend and soon it became a Sunday ritual for me to join the Miller family for an entertaining afternoon and dinner. We shared many good times. Sometimes we would watch television and Wheel of Fortune would come on. â I have to interject here that the Miller family are very competitive and it felt like a race to see who could figure the words out first- Anyway, on Wheel of Fortune if you signed up on line you could win money if they choose your special code. Donna had signed Lois up and every time we watched the show we looked to see if the code with LJM initials would come up. This was the first I had heard of Wheel of Fortune doing this.
Eventually I moved away to Washington State to my own parents, and of course missed my Miller family. Lois liked to call me her adopted daughter, but I felt closer than that.
I have been blessed to have Lois in my life, I feel that an angel has been taken from us, or maybe an angel has been born. Lois will live on forever in our hearts. After all, here we are in 2018 and I still look for LJM in the winning code on Wheel of Fortune, and think of Loisâ¦I believe I always will.
