Linda Matsuda
Lonny's Eulogy- presented at both the Northern and Southern California services.
Lonny was the 3rd child 5 children of Handy and Nobie Matsuda.
He was always acting acting goofy for their family photos.
Lonny's mother was ill for most of his childhood and passed away with Lupus when he was 12.
He accepted The Lord at age 16 and graduated at the top of his high school class.
Lonny went to USC, then transferred to CSUN and graduated with a BA in Linguistics and a Minor in art.
He then went to Life Bible College for a year and a half before beginning graduate school with Wycliffe Bible Translators at the Summer Institute of Linguistics, at University of Texas, Arlington.
Lonny and Linda met during his last year of grad school and were married in August of 1983.
Due to difficulty finding a job in Linguistics with a MA, Lonny fell on his minor and eventually became an award-winning Graphic Designer for 30 years, working for the likes of Patagonia, L.L. Bean and Samaritan's Purse.
For the past two years he had been studying Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine full time to help bring healing to hurting people along with prayer and forgiveness.
He was a committed family man, leaving work promptly at 5pm to spend as much time as possible with his family.
Lonny read his Bible every morning and prayed for most people he knew, listing them on his extensive prayer lists.
He had many hobbies, enjoying surfing, cycling, reading, exercising, wood-working, watercolor painting, and calligraphy.
He loved God and loved people.
His family recently found a clipping of a poem in his prayer notebook stating:
"When I reach the end of my days, a moment or two from now,
I must look backward on something more meaningful than the pursuit of houses and land and machines and stocks and bonds. Nor is fame of any lasting benefit. I will consider my earthly existence to have been wasted unless I can recall a loving family, a consistent investment in the lives of people, and a

Lonny,
I never knew you in this life, but I will in heaven. I have had the honor to get to know your wife Linda. Sheâs a marvelous woman. She has outward beauty but also a tremendous inner beauty , strength and heart. God blessed you with her. He held no good thing from you. Through her I have met your children, Hope and Win. They are a reflection of you. They are wonderful gifts of God that you nurtured and invested in and it is paying off. You are an amazing Father and husband.

Lonny, is a man that lived life from his core. Shared many lunch time walks to Venturaâs Cross. He made a lasting impression as a hardworking man that reached for perfection with such a gentle grace. Family was his motivation!!!
Lonny, you were a dear Patagonia friend and I still have visions of your sweet spirited smiles and silly gut laughter.
Linda & Children, I pray comfort will be blessed upon you. He loved his family!!!
