Born October 31st, 1927 in Chicago, IL and passed June 1st, 2025 in Fremont, CA at the age of 97, due to natural causes.

Preceded in death by parents Joseph and Mary Brencic, husband, Eugene Darlin and son Mark. With the death of Eugene in 1980, due to cancer, Lucille never remarried.

Survived by brother Joseph Brencic, son Dean Darlin, daughter-in-law Lori Darlin, grandsons Ryan, Alan and his wife Amelia and great grandsons Mack, Cal and Cam. Lucille had great love for her family.

As her health deteriorated in recent years due to crippling arthritis, Ryan became her full-time care taker and no person could have been more attentive to her needs. During this time they developed a special bond.

Lucille relocated from Chicago to Fremont in 1958, where she lived for the balance of her life. She loved her home in the Mission San Jose area where she enjoyed baking, decorating the house and working in the yards. Once on a routine visit to the doctor’s office the doctor asked about her hobbies and she responded that she liked to paint. The doctor asked what she liked to paint to which Lucille responded incredulously “the house, what do you think?”.

She was a loving and caring grandmother who played a role in teaching Ryan and Alan how to hit a baseball. She was loved for the Easter egg hunts she would stage for them each year. It is believed that unfound plastic eggs with money still remain hidden in the yard. This family tradition continues with her great grandsons.

She was a parishioner of Saint Joseph Church in Fremont. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations are made in her honor to Saint Joseph Church.

Lucille will be terribly missed but never forgotten.
