Obituaries

We are saddened to announce the passing of our loving mom Lynnette Cecilia “Sass” Jones-Weeks. Who lost her battle with cancer on May 21st, 2023. A lifelong resident of Newark, California she was born on April 3, 1952 in Oakland CA.

Sass is survived by her Daughters Kathleen Cunningham Dominguez her husband Daniel Dominguez, Kelly Sison and her husband Glenn Sison. Grandchildren Mariah Balderas and her husband Gabe Balderas, Samuel Sison, Isabelle Dominguez, Nathaniel Dominguez, and Great Granddaughter Sofia Balderas. As well as brothers Darrell Jones his wife Raye Dale Jones, James Jones and his wife Janet Jones and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Claude and Gertrude Jones. And her loving husband Robert L. Weeks. Sass was a loving Daughter, Wife, Mother, Grandmother as well as a Great Grandmother.

Sass attended Newark High School. She worked 20 years at the 7-11, making many lifelong friends. In her free time, she loved hanging out with her grandkids. Sass loved watching sports, enjoying her nightly beer, and reading. Sass could easily make friends with anyone, she always enjoyed meeting new people.

A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, June 8th, 4pm at Fremont Chapel of the Roses 1940 Peralta Blvd. Fremont, CA 94536.
