Obituary For Magdalena Dungca Escalona
Entered into rest on January 13, 2013 in Hayward, CA at the age of 55. Devoted wife of Anthony Atienza. Beloved mother of Marilen Atienza. Cherished daughter of Nora Escalona. Caring sister to Patria Abbot, Alma Szpadzinski, Noji Escalona, Oliver Escalona, Mario Escalona, and Jesusito Escalona. Predeceased by her brother Jose Escalona, Jr., and her father Jose Escalona, Sr. Also survived by 19 nieces and nephews, and 17 great-nieces and great-nephews.
Born October 17, 1957 in La Paz, Tarlac, PI, Magdalena was a registered nurse for over 30 years. She received a B.S. in nursing at St. Jude College in Manila, PI. She loved music, singing, bingo, playing Mahjong, and cooking. She was a great aunt to many nieces and nephews, a caring sister to her brothers and sisters, a devoted mom, and a loving wife.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 16, from 1-8pm with a Vigil at 5pm at Fremont Memorial Chapel, 3723 Peralta Blvd., Fremont, CA 94536. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, January 17, 11am at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 37588 Fremont Blvd., Fremont, CA 94536.

Tita, You're such a very wonderful person, tita, sister, wife and mother. Please watch over us and teach us how to be selfless and loving like you were. We mourn your loss but we will always be thankful for all the kindness you've shown us and for having you in our lives. Tita I was hoping to see you when I come for a visit in Cali with my family so we can go 'gala' but I guess you are now making 'gala' eerywhere with your own set of angel wings! We love you tita Ne! Ating Ne, you were a one-of-a-kind cousin to us all. We are saddened by this loss, but are assured that in God's loving arms, you feel no more pain and suffering. Tita Ne, thank you for your love and support. Thank you for those wonderful times you shared with me and my cousin Nina at your apartment in Daly City. I still can recall those times when we would spend the night at your apartment and just play with your Nintendo game system(duck hunt and super mario bros). Nina and I cherished those moments with you because we didn't have to share your attention with anyone else but us. Thank you,thank you. I love you and I will miss your presence in all of our family gatherings. Rest and be in peace in the presence of Our Lord and Savior.
