Obituary For Manuel Alvarez Valenzuela
Entered into rest on February 17, 2012 in Fremont at the age of 87. Devoted father to Geneva Espinosa and her husband John, Eugene Valenzuela and his wife Enedina, Jesse Valenzuela and his wife Mary, and Manny Valenzuela. Grandfather of 15 and great-grandfather of 11. Beloved brother of Marta Rios, Lidia Perez, Jesus Valenzuela, Arturo Valenzuela, Raul Valenzuela, and Martin Valenzuela. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his wife Josephine, his son Oscar, and his daughters Mathilda and Irene.
Born July 30, 1924 in Mexicali, MX, Manuel was a renaissance man, a true "Jack of All Trades". He enjoyed working on cars and helping out in any way all of the time. He was very well known in his community and will be sorely missed.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 23, 5-8pm with a vigil at 7pm at Fremont Memorial Chapel, 3723 Peralta Blvd., Fremont, CA 94536. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, February 24, 10:30am at St. Edward's Catholic Church, 5788 Thornton Ave., Newark, CA 94560. Burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Hayward.
