Obituary For Manuel Sigala Hinojos
Entered into rest on March 8, 2012 in Fremont at the age of 71. Beloved father of Cynthia Lamm and her husband Richard of Union City. Cherished grandfather of Karin, Brittany, Melissa, Erica, and Brandon. Proud great-grandfather of Jayelle Grace. Treasured foster parent of Roberta Duran. Dear brother of Esther Acosta, Vicki Calderon, Lidia Nabarrete, and Ruben Hinojos. Survived by his former wife Tillie Orosco. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his daughter Michelle Veal, and by his brother Jose Hinojos.
Born April 27, 1940 in El Mulato, Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Mexico, Manuel was a wonderful husband, father, friend and man of God. A people person through and through, Manuel thrived on being surrounded by close friends, and his family was his pride and joy. He was loving, kind and generous. His favorite holiday was Christmas because he enjoyed celebrating the birth of Christ, giving gifts, and the hussle and bussle of the season. A dedicated employee, Manuel always loved his work. From the Oakland School District to Kaiser Permanente Hospital where he worked 35+ years, he always worked hard and took pride in all he did. To this day, his colleagues remain some of his closest friends. Manuel also enjoyed working in his garden and traveling. From his favorite town of Las Vegas to an Alaskan cruise, and Niagara Falls, Manuel?s frequent adventures took him all over the map. He even had plans to go on a cruise to Panama Canal this very month. More than anything Manuel will be remembered as a man who loved his Church, his family and above all else serving God.
A memorial mass will be celebrated on Monday, March 19, 6pm at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish, 40382 Fremont Blvd., Fremont, CA 94538.

We have known Manual for 40 years when all of us moved into our new homes. We watched each others children grow and saw the grand children come. You will be missed Manual. God Bless.

I was only able to speak to him on a couple of occasions. He was the most nicest person. He was very sweet and very honest and caring. Even thou I only spoke to him a couple of times, he will always be remembered.

I knew Manuel for over 40 years. he always had a kind word for everone. It was great to see him laughing, joking, dancing, he lived a full loving life.
