Entered into rest on February 1, 2012 in Fremont at the age of 95. Loving mother to Diana M. Kettman of Sebastopol, Paul F. Merrill of Fremont, and Kathleen A. Schaecher of Walla Walla, WA. Grandmother of 6 and great-grandmother of 8. Caring sister to Lloyd Ghiglieri of Gardnerville, NV, and Albert Ghiglieri of Healdsburg. Predeceased by her husband of 51 years, John "Paul" Merrill.

Born February 2, 1916 in CA, Maria was a retired RN. She retired in 1970. In fact, she was one of the first RN's at Washington Hospital.

A memorial mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 7, 11am at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 37588 Fremont Blvd., Fremont, CA 94536. Inurnment at Chapel of the Chimes Memorial Park in Hayward.
