Entered into rest on April 13, 2012 in Fremont at the age of 84. Devoted mother of Teresa and Aaron Bazan of Lathrop, Beatriz and Ruben Gonzalez of Manteca, Michael Salinas of Fremont, Armando and Belinda Salinas of Hayward, and Jesse and Lisa Salinas of Woodland. Cherished grandmother of Lina Soto, Kari Cirolia, Marina Mitchell, Veronica Gonzalez, Christopher Gonzalez, Angelica Cardenas, Gabriel Salinas, Esteban Salinas, and Felicia Salinas. Proud great-grandmother of Talia Soto, Maya Soto, Xavier Mitchell, Janessa Mitchell, Anabelle Cardenas, and Isaac Cardenas. Beloved sister of Salvador Farias. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by Angel Salinas.

Born October 12, 1927 in Cotija, Michoacán, Mexico, Maria was a resident of Fremont for 39 years. She enjoyed sewing and cooking, and loved gardening.

Visitation will be held on Monday, April 16, from 5-8pm with a vigil at 6:30pm at Fremont Chapel of the Roses, 1940 Peralta Blvd., Fremont, CA 94536. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 17, 10am at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 37588 Fremont Blvd., Fremont, CA 94536. Burial at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon.
