Obituaries

Maria “Lucy” Salazar, 89, resident of Hayward, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Friday, Dec. 12, 2014, following a short illness at home with her loving family at her side. She was born on Oct. 31, 1925, the daughter of Augustine and Refugia Salazar in Los Angeles.

She is survived by her daughter, Alice Barrows of Hayward; son, Manuel Salazar of Fremont; Sisters, Lupe Lopez of Newark and Esther Rodriguez of San Bernardino. Also, she leaves behind 6 Grandchildren and 11 Great-Grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her son, Frank Salazar, sisters, Gregoria Ybarra, Connie Aceves and brothers, Andrew Salazar and Augustine “Augie” Salazar.

Lucy was a member of the Apostolic Assembly Church, Abundant Life Center in Hayward. She was devoted to her Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren, but most of all her focus was working for and serving the Lord. She will be missed by all who she loved and all who loved her.

Visitation will begin at 5pm with a celebration of Lucy’s life at 7pm, Thursday, December 18th at the Hayward Apostolic Church (Abundant Life Center), 28436 Harvey Avenue Hayward, CA 94544.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, 12:00pm, at the Church. Burial to follow at Lone Tree Cemetery, Hayward.
