Obituaries

Age 92. She passed away peacefully on March 5th in Fremont, California after a brief illness. Marian was the loving wife of 62 years to Clifford, loving mother to Bruce, Gary and daughter-in-laws Monica & Carol. Marian loved and cherished her four grandchildren: Seth and Ganymede (Bruce & Monica), Emily and Kelsey (Gary and Carol).

She was born to Alvin and Hilda Schroeder in Grand Meadow, Minnesota on January 5, 1920. The first of four children, Marian moved to San Diego, California in 1940 where she met the love of her life, Clifford Winegar. They married in December 1943 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Marian and Cliff settled in Sacramento, California. She was an active member of Our Savior Lutheran Church and volunteered work for many years at the Lutheran Thrift Store in downtown Sacramento. She and Cliff moved to Sun City, Lincoln Hills, California in 2000. There, she joined Holy Cross Lutheran Church of Rocklin. She was a devoted and selfless wife, mother and grandmother. Her family and friends were her life. She will be deeply missed and forever loved.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 10th, at 11:00 AM at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 4701 Grove Street, Rocklin, CA 95677. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Holy Cross Lutheran Church Preschool and Kindergarten.
