Obituary For Marie Idalina Silva
Marie Silva, age 88, a long-time resident of Fremont, passed away Tuesday morning, March 7, 2023, in her home. She is survived by her son and daughter, Joseph Silva and Maxine Faria; son-in-law David Faria; two granddaughters, Jenna Silva and Diana Faria; four grandsons, Earl Silva, Andrew Silva, David Faria Jr., Geoff Silva; and two great granddaughters, Isabelle and Emma Silva. She also leaves behind many other family members and friends who sadly miss her. Marie was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Edwin Silva.
She was born on March 7, 1935, in the Azores, to the late Joe and Marie Nunes. She enjoyed crocheting, cooking for her family, going to the casino and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 16, 4-8pm with a Rosary at 6:30pm at Fremont Chapel of the Roses, 1940 Peralta Blvd. in Fremont. A Funeral Mass will be held for Marie on Friday, March 17, 10am at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 37588 Fremont Blvd. in Fremont. Burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Hayward. Marie’s family will serve as pallbearers.
