Obituary For Marilyn Jeanne Juarez

Marilyn passed away on September 3rd, 2025 at the age of 83. She was born on March 5, 1942 in Palo Alto, California to Bernard and Jeannie Pihl. Marilyn grew up on Bay Street in Mountain View with her two best friends and cousins, Marie and Lorraine Giovacchini. They would play dress-up and hopscotch, in the fields they would cut apricots in the ‘shed’, sunbathing in the summer, riding horses and playing with her dog, Champ! After graduating from Mountain View High school, Marilyn attended UC Davis, received her teaching credential and taught kindergarten for over 40 years with the New Haven School District. Marilyn found her joy with her kindergartners and would close each school day singing with all of her students, “Goodbye now goodbye now, the clock says we’re done. We will see you tomorrow, goodbye everyone”. Marilyn met the love of her life, Tony, in a bowling alley while playing in a teacher’s bowling league. They were married at Saint Ann Chapel Anglican Church in Palo Alto on November 18, 1966. Settling in Fremont, Tony and Marilyn bought their forever home and were blessed with two beautiful children, Jason and Jennifer. Marilyn was a loving wife, mother, grandma and friend to everyone. At Christmas, she always made sure there were extra gifts so no one felt left out. Two of her favorite sayings were, “Later Alligator” and “After While Crocodile”. Marilyn loved her spaghetti ‘with extra sauce, please’ and See’s Bordeaux chocolates. She and Tony enjoyed going to the movie theater, operas, shopping for her grandchildren and visiting with family and friends.

Marilyn is survived by her loving husband of over 59 years, Anthony Juarez; children Jason (wife Tina), Jennifer (husband Edward); grandchildren Nickolis, Zackary, Camille, Matthew, Jaxson and Isabell; and her cousins, Lorraine Giovacchini and Marie and Larry Chapel, and many other cousins, nephews and nieces. Marilyn is preceded in death by her father and mother, Bernard and Jennie Phil, beloved Uncle Moreno and Auntie Mary Giovacchini.
