Marjorie was born in Indianapolis, IN, on August 2, 1928, in her grandmother's house, to Margaret and Russell Chambers. She was the first of five children; Russell, Bill, Janice, and Toni. Marjorie grew up an 'army brat', living in Alabama, Georgia and Michigan, before graduating from high school in Encinitas, CA. While working at the PX in El Paso, TX, she met enlisted man William Fremont and married him in 1950 in Dayton, OH. The Fremonts moved to California in 1963, eventually settling in Fremont with their five children. Marjorie was a loving wife and mother, later returning to college and pursuing a career as a copywriter for Mervyn's advertising. Marjorie had a life-long love of the arts: a talented and award-winning painter, she was a member of Olive Hyde Art Guild and the Fremont Art Association. After retiring, Marjorie volunteered at the Discovery Shop (American Cancer Society) and was a member of the Tri-City Women's Club. She joined the Niles Discovery Church, participating in their annual flea market and gardening projects.

A celebration of her life will take place in the fall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to The American Cancer Society (https://www.cancer.org).
