Obituaries

Marjorie E. Hedlund, daughter of Werner W. and Aledia C. Richardson was born in Auburn, MA on June 26, 1923. She died peacefully May 28, 2021 at home. She is survived by her beloved son Bruce R. Hedlund and his loving wife Zoilita, with whom she lived with in Fremont, CA since moving from Worcester, MA in 2005. Her beloved husband of 50 years, Police Officer Oswald (Ozzie), holder of the Navy Cross, died in 1995. She also leaves 2 sisters, Marion I. Kravas of Largo, FL, and Mary A. Zannazzi of Galveston, TX. She leaves many cousins, nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her brothers Verner F. Richardson and his wife Katherine, Harold W. Richardson and his wife Lois and her sister Shirley A. Swallow and her husband Phil.

Marjorie graduated with that “Outstanding Class of 1941” from Auburn High School. She also attended Becker’s College. She and her husband were founding members of St. George’s church in Worcester, MA. She was a former member of the Woman’s Guild of St. Georges Church, Worcester, MA. She retired from Dr. Lemuel W. Higgins office in 1985.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 30, 11:30am at St. Joseph’s Church, 43148 Mission Blvd., Fremont, CA 94539. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton, MA. In lieu of flowers, remembrance can be made to St. Joseph's, Building Fund.
