Obituary For Marjorie Mae Rogers
Marge passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, March 31, surrounded by family. She is survived by her brother Mayhlon, Jr., sons Philip (Angela) and Douglas (Nancy), Grandchildren Kristine (Keith), Michael (Lauren), Matthew, Allison and Eric, and Great granddaughters Kayla and Kylie.
Born Marjorie Mae Degernes to Mayhlon and Ruth Degernes in Bagley, MN. Marge lived and was educated in Minnesota and earned her teaching credential from the University of Minnesota. Shortly thereafter she came to California to teach school in Santa Maria. In 1950 she moved to Mill Valley to marry Allen Rogers; they lived there until 1954 when they moved to Novato. Marge taught Elementary School full time in Novato until the family moved to Fremont in 1964. In Fremont, Marge did a little substitute teaching but soon became a full time mother and homemaker. Marge was an active member of Christ the King Church. Over the years Marge has been involved in many community and volunteer groups such as SIRS, Parkinson’s Disease Support Group and AARP. She also quilted and knit for family and charities. She was a proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
In lieu of flowers or gifts the family asks that any donations be made in Marjorie’s name to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. A memorial service is scheduled for Sunday, May 17, 2:00 at Christ the King Church, Fremont.
Condolences
