Obituary For Marlene Ann Faustino

Marlene is survived by her three children Jack, Lisa (Zeus), and Susan (Chris). Her brother Mark (Diane) and sister in law Diane. Her five grandchildren Jack (Kelly), Cece (Gabby), Anthony, Sophia (Jake), and Carly (Jesse). Her five great grandchildren Jaxon, Aviana, Jose, Wyatt, and Mateo. Her cousins, nieces, nephews, and many dear friends. Marlene was preceded in death by her loving husband Jack Faustino, parents Albert and Lena Rinetti, brother Al Rinetti, and grandson Jake Faustino.

Marlene grew up in San Leandro in a large Italian family. Her Italian heritage was always something she was very proud of. After high school, she attended Armstrong Business College. Marlene met and married the love of her life, Jack, on August 31, 1958. They built their home in Fremont where she lived for the next 62 years. Throughout this time she maintained her home impeccably, inside and out. One of her favorite places in her home was the kitchen. She was a phenomenal cook and baker. Marlene and Jack were blessed with three beautiful children. Tragedy struck and Marlene became a widow at 28. At that point, she showed her strength and perseverance by dedicating her life to raising her children. Marlene began working for the Oakland Diocese in order to send her children to catholic high school. Her career spanned the next 30 years. This was no surprise, as she was a devout catholic and an active member of Holy Spirit Parish. Upon her retirement, Marlene began tap dancing, Tai chi, joined the Red Hat Society, played cards, and through this created many wonderful friendships. Throughout her life, Marlene loved traveling. Her favorite travel companion was her Mother. No matter the destination, it always brought her pure joy. She had a true love for music and was always the first one on the dance floor. She will always be remembered for the way she enjoyed life and how she spent time with the people she loved. She took pride in always remembering those she loved on their special days. Although she will be deeply missed, we find comfort in knowing she will be reunited with her one true love after 57 years.

We want to thank Washington Hospital UCSF Cancer Center, Dr. Eftimie and his staff, and all the nurses at the Infusion Center for the amazing care they provided our mom. They always treated our mom with dignity, compassion, kindness and love.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 14, 2022 from 5:00pm-8:00pm with a Vigil at 6:00pm at Fremont Chapel of the Roses, 1940 Peralta Blvd., Fremont.
