Entered into rest on February 20, 2012 in Fremont at the age of 79. Devoted wife of 35 years to John Rice. Beloved step-mother of Stephanie Andersen and her husband Steven of Auburn, Kristi Turner of Dayton, NV, and John Rice, Jr. and his wife Ginger of S. Lake Tahoe. Grandmother of 8 and great-grandmother of 6. Cherished sister of Frank Munig and his wife Bertha of SC. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Born February 8, 1933 in Devil Lake, ND, Mary worked for Bank of the West in Fremont for 12 years. In retirement, she volunteered at the Fremont Senior Center for many years. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with John.

A private family service will be held. Inurnment at Chapel of the Chimes Memorial Park in Hayward. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sutter Care at Home - Office of Charitable Giving, 1900 Powell Street, Suite 300, Emeryville, CA 94608.
