Obituary For Mary Rose Baptista
Entered into rest on June 20, 2012 in Newark at the age of 92. Preceded in death by her husband Manuel P. Baptista, Jr. on October 12, 2012. Loving mother to Manuel Baptista, III, and Jerry Baptista. Grandmother of 3, great-grandmother of 6, and great-great grandmother of 4.
Born March 25, 1920 in Azores, Mary was a member of S.E.S. and St. Anthony Society. She was very involved at Holy Spirit Catholic Church for over 70 years. Mary and her husband were Grand Marshalls of the parish parade. She enjoyed gardening, and raising parakeets and doves. With her husband she enjoyed traveling in their RV especially to the Pacific Coast and to the Rose Parade in Pasadena with the Good Samaritan Club and the BS Travelers Club.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 29, 5-8pm with a vigil at 7pm at Fremont Memorial Chapel, 3723 Peralta Blvd., Fremont, CA 94536. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, June 30, 12pm at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 37588 Fremont Blvd., Fremont, CA 94536. Burial will follow at Holy Spirit Cemetery in Fremont, CA.

Dear, Dear Mary, You will always be in my heart. I loved you very much and will miss you a lot. You always had that pretty smile with the whitest teeth. It was a privilege knowing you and I am so glad that Jesus brought our paths together. You were like my second Mom and such a special person. I know you are now with Jesus and I know He will be taking such good care of you now and no more pain and no more tears. Say hi to Manuel and my Mom and Dad up there and I will be seeing you all again soon. Love and miss you, Cecile
