My family and I are sorry to hear of Aunt Merian's passing. We have fond memories of the time she shared with us in District Heights and Waldorf MD. May the Lord continue to bless and keep our families now and the days ahead.

We would like to extend our deepest condolences and sympathy wishes to the family of Aunt Merian. Aunt Merian was my Great Aunt and a GREAT Aunt she was. I will always remember the wonderful conversasions we had while she was living in Maryland and her unique way of refering to me has "Fella" and "Lovey".

Extending sympathies to our California family. We were blessed as a Maryland family to see and talk to Merian frequently. I enjoyed hearing her talk about her school days and extended family back home. She loved to hear Rev Wright from Chicago preach. He came every year to Howard University to preach and I would often bring the audio for Aunt Merian to enjoy the sermon. One time we physicaly went to the University to see and hear him preach. Another good memory when her daughter and grandaughter came to visit, we went to the Carter Barron Amphitheatre to see Patti Austin and Jeffery Osborne. She would talk some time from then about that great concert. More recently we went to see Sinbad in concert and though she had mobility issues, we made it and had a laughing good time. Will miss the good times we shared with Aunt Merian. God bless us all as we carry on.

I will always remember the magnificent grandmother that you were. Your kindness, friendship and wonderful support that you provided for many years will be cherished forever. "The lord is my shepherd. I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me besides quiet water. He refreshes my soul...surely your goodness & love will follow me all the days of my life & will dwell in the house of the lord forever." Psalm 23 You will always be in our thoughts, forever in our hearts. You will never be forgotten. You will always be with us. We love and miss you dearly. In loving memory of Merian Walker Ashby.
