Obituary For Michaela Ann Henretty (Parrish)

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Michaela Ann Henretty (Parrish) on July 25, 2026, at the age of 67.

Born and raised in Fremont, California, Michaela made history as the first baby born at Washington Hospital on its opening day. She grew up surrounded by a loving family and lifelong friends who remained an important part of her life.

Michaela attended Holy Spirit Elementary School and graduated from Moreau Catholic High School before earning a bachelor's degree in Sociology from the University of California, Berkeley. During her time at Cal, she embraced adventure both on and off the field as a member of the women's rugby team. One memorable moment came when she was featured in the San Francisco Chronicle, with what was said to be the largest photograph ever published on the front page of the Sporting Green section.

Following college, Michaela built a successful career in the insurance industry as an adjuster with Andreini & Company Insurance Solutions, where she was respected for her professionalism, compassion, and dedication to helping others.

Michaela married Alec Henretty, and together they embarked on one of life's greatest adventures, traveling to Western Samoa, where they adopted their beloved daughter, Katarina. Becoming a mother was one of Michaela's greatest joys, and she was immensely proud of the woman Katarina became. Later in life, she was blessed to become a grandmother to Jackson and Ulla, whom she loved dearly and cherished beyond words.

Michaela had a gift for bringing people together. She loved cooking for family and friends, attending live music events, and spending time socializing with the many people whose lives she touched. Her warm smile, infectious laugh, generous heart, and fun-loving spirit made everyone around her feel welcome. She formed lasting friendships wherever she went and will be remembered for her kindness, humor, and genuine love for others.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Katarina; her cherished grandchildren, Jackson and Ulla; and her devoted siblings, Clay, Danette, Valerie, Brandon, Brian, and Timothea. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Marie Parrish; her brother, Bill Parrish; and her former husband, Alec Henretty.

Michaela's family extends their heartfelt gratitude for the outpouring of love, prayers, and support during this difficult time. They find comfort in knowing how deeply she was loved by so many.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 8 at 11:00 at Fremont Chapel of the Roses, 1940 Peralta ave, Fremont. A reception will follow at a site to be determined.

Please know that Caela loved each and every one of you.

May she rest in peace with God.
