Obituary For Michelle A. Skorheim

It is with a heavy heart that my family announce the passing of my beloved Sister Michelle Andrea Skorheim.

Michelle passed Wednesday the 24th, 11AM Due to complication from her type 1 juvenile diabetes and multiple strokes. Michelle is survived by her two sons Andrew and Marco Skorheim along with our Mother Mirtha Skorheim.

My sister had ambitions of helping others in need with health deficiencies thus starting her road to becoming a nurse. Sadly, her illness set her back and she had to divert her attention and energy to raising her two boys as a single mother.

Michelle loved the beach, long trips in the car inspired by our parents and loved housing lost animals. We’d constantly argue over how many animals she would allow in the house, a quality that I understand and appreciate now. Her happiest times were watching both Sons on the Soccer Field and visiting her late Grandmother in San Francisco. She was a master at making a few Peruvian dishes and teaching me how to cook at a very young age. For this I will be forever grateful.

Her last few years were very hard physically, and on true stubborn form, she fought until the end. I’d like to thank our Mother Mirtha Skorheim for being strong and visiting her daily in intensive care, her two boys who have grown into men of which I am extremely proud. I’d also like to thank her best friend Crissy and our cousin Taty Flores along with our family friends who would visit my sister and lift her spirits. Lastly, I’d like to thank the team at Davita Dialysis who were so kind to her and my family. It takes a village to raise children, it also takes a village to help those in need. I’m grateful for our village.
