Obituary For Mildred Ann Pierce

Mildred Ann "Millie" Pierce passed away peacefully on July 13, 2012 after courageously undergoing kidney dialysis treatments for more than 3 ½ years. Survived by husband Roby Pierce, son Steve (Lorrey), grandson Nicholas and brother Harold Enos. Millie was a loving and devoted wife. She was a caring and supportive mother and a very proud grandmother. Millie loved her family and was loved by all. She had countless friends and acquaintances and will be forever remembered by all who knew her. Millie had many hobbies and interests over the years including collecting pigs, making jigsaw puzzles, painting ceramics and solving crossword puzzles. She also loved to fish.

Millie was born on December 5, 1929 in Centerville to Manuel and Elvira Enos. She graduated from Washington High School in 1947. She was a lifelong resident of Fremont living the majority of her life in the Niles area. In her younger years Millie worked at the Masonic Home and the International Kitchen. She later worked at the PASSCO Niles Federal Credit Union, serving the employees of Pacific States Steel. Millie was a member of the First United Methodist Church for 55 years and was its original treasurer. For many years Millie and her family went rock hunting as members of the Castro Valley Mineral and Gem Society. Millie and Roby traveled throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico in their RV. They also fulfilled their lifelong dream of traveling all over the world. Millie and Roby went on many cruises and trips visiting more than 45 countries in North and South America, Europe, Asia, Africa, and Australia. On one trip around the world they visited her favorite site, the Taj Mahal. Another trip of particular importance was their visit to the island of Faial in the Azores to the city of Horta where her mother was born.

Her family would like to extend special thanks to the staff at Bellamore Residential Care Home in Fremont, Fresenius Medical Care in Newark, Angels Hospice and Kaiser Permanente. Millie's family is forever grateful for the excellent care and treatment she received.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 20, 11am at Fremont Chapel of the Roses, 1940 Peralta Blvd., Fremont, CA 94536. Inurnment at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon, CA.

In lieu of flowers, her family requests donations to the Tri-City Volunteers, 37350 Joseph St., Fremont, CA 94536.

    I want offer my condolences to Steve, and his family. It sounds like Mrs Pierce was a wonder person who enyoyed family & life. I'm sure she will be sorely missed by all who knew & loved her. May God continue to bless & comfort the Pierce family.
