Obituary For Miles Anthony Balderas
Miles Anthony Balderas, beloved son and brother, was born on January 29, 2026, at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital in Palo Alto, California. He passed peacefully on May 8, 2026, surrounded by the family who never left his side. He was just over three months old.
Miles came into the world with hypoplastic left heart syndrome, a condition that required him to spend every day of his life in the CVICU at Lucile Packard. Though his time with us was brief, it was full. He found joy in bath time, soothed by the music of Olivia Dean. He had his Spider-Man lovey close by. And in his final moments, he felt the warmth of the sun and a gentle breeze on his face for the very first time.
He leaves behind his mother, Mariah Balderas; his father, Gabriel Balderas; and his big sister, Sofia Balderas, who will carry him with them always.
Miles taught his family more about love and strength in three months than most teach in a lifetime. He was here, and he was cherished, and he will never be forgotten.

Mighty Miles was indeed a fighter, every single day of his life. He was loved by so many people: nurses, doctors, staff, and of course his amazing family who was with him by his side every day. He will always be missed and remembered as a heroic young boy. May he be at peace and rest easy. Sending love to his family. -Dr. Ben
