Obituary For Oliver Leroy Knapps
Oliver L Knapps, age 91, passed peacefully in his home in Newark, CA on Thursday, January 24, 2013.
He was a Navy veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific.
He treasured his membership in the LDS Church. He was sealed to his eternal companion, L. Florene Lunt in the Oakland Temple on March 26, 1982. They combined their children Rex, Alitha, Liesel and Erich. Then they welcomed their daughter Sarah.
He was a traveler, artist, sailor, inventor, truck driver, yard and home remodeler and author. He enjoyed the beach and time with his family.
He is survived by his wife Lettie Florene; his sister Virginia Lee Albert; 2 sons: Rex Eugene Knapps of Livermore, CA, and Erich Eugean Fair of Ogden, UT; and 3 daughters: Liesel Lorraine Loesch of Folsom, CA, Alitha Rose Reetz of Crystal Lake, IL, and Sarah May Monte of Hawyard, CA.
A Memorial Service will be held for Oliver on Saturday, February 2, 11am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Bayside Ward, 36400 Haley St., Newark, CA 94560. He was laid to rest at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon, CA.

Florene: We were shocked and saddened to learn of Oliver's passing. As much tender care you provided him over these past few years, it must be an emptiness now without him. Yet, he's now free of his encumbrances and enjoying his reunions with those who passed before him. We know you'll see him and enjoy his companionship again someday.
