Patrick Augustine O’Leary passed away in Union City at the age of 99; six weeks from his 100th birthday. Patrick was born October 22, 1921 near Shanghai to Jeremiah O’Leary and Camilla O'Leary (née Coates). Pat built his life from scratch three times. First as an Administrator at the United Nations Relief and Rehabilitation Administration (UNRRA) in Shanghai; then as a partner with a national Canadian hardware corporation in Windsor, Ontario and then in the United States in supervising manufacturing at American Can then United Can corporations.

Pat loved working with his hands; one of his greatest hobbies was woodworking. He made beautiful furniture from exotic hardwoods. Numerous friends and family members were fortunate to receive his handmade wood hangings of eagles, Celtic crosses or other works of art. Pat was also a talented artist doing detailed, original drawings of family members.

Patrick, along with his wife Marion, traveled the world, often voyaging abroad with their numerous friends. They also enjoyed taking road trips together throughout the Western United States, visiting many locations and National Parks.

Patrick was predeceased by his beloved wife Marion of 68 years. Patrick is survived by his two sons Michael & Timothy and daughter-in-law Renee (nee Watts). He also leaves behind his grandchildren Krystalyn, Jay, Jesse, Nikki, James and Jerome as well as eleven great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Patrick was a supportive and generous family man. He was always there for his family through their achievements and challenges. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow. He wanted his family to simply enjoy every moment life had to offer and he wished for their happiness. Pat was a big S.F. Giants baseball fan - while watching a game one might hear Pat's favorite saying “Holy Mackerel!”.
