Obituary For Percy Yebra Salcedo

Preceded in death by a cousin, Molly Salcedo Castenieto and mother-in-law, Ina Piper. Survived by his loving wife, Debbie Salcedo; stepson, Joseph “JD” DaSilva; two dogs, Roxie and Jax; his parents, Percy Sr. & Dolores Salcedo; his sister, Juanita Salcedo (Patrick); his brother, Tom Salcedo (Depeche); father-in-law, Rich Piper; sister in laws, Stacey, Becky (Chris) and Rachel (Joe) and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews including nephews, Mathew Kronyak and Rocko Salcedo.

Drumroll, please….. (if you knew Percy, you will get this) Percy was born in Fresno and even though he lived in the Bay Area, he always had a special place in his heart for Fresno. It will always be his home, as well as where his family lives. Loved by many, Percy brought happiness and positivity into every place he entered. He was a Seahawk fanatic and loved attending games in Seattle. He loved to listen to the Grateful Dead and Bruce Springsteen. As an avid traveler, he and Debbie traveled to Europe, Mexico, Hawaii, and many other places. Percy was the head driver trainer for Safeway.com and enjoyed his job immensely. He also served in the Army at Schofield Barracks in the early ’80s. He will be missed by many. In place of flowers, please make donations to The American Cancer Society.

Due to COVID-19, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in 2021. More information can be found at Chapel of the Roses, 1940 Peralta Blvd, Fremont.

I miss you so much, Babe! As I promised, I am "taking care" your parents, like you always did. We help each other cope. You are so loved. I enjoyed the chat with Shannon (wink, wink). You are the love of my life and I will always love you!

Percy, I miss you so much. Went to dinner with a friend tonight. Last time she and I went out, you were out of town. That was over 2 years ago. I can’t believe its been 9 months today since you moved on. I feel like I am so lost without you. I love you always.

Percy, you were the love of my sister's life and she was yours. To see how the two of you lit up and smiled when one of you walked into a room warmed my heart. I don't even think either of you knew that you did that. I will miss your big booming voice, laughter, and smile at family events. We miss you so much already.

Percy was a true Gentleman in every sense of the word. Intelligent, fun-loving, handsome, and kind. Our deepest sympathy to his Debbie and Joseph, his Mom and Dad and all who loved him.

My husband Anthony and I had the incredible good fortune to have Percy enter our lives in kindergarten. We grew up together, enjoyed good times together without number, and and were friends for life. Percy truly lit up a room with his smile, laughter, and infectious good cheer. Our hearts are heavy with his loss, and the world is seems darker now. But we know he is free of his pain and suffering. He would want us to dry our tears and live our lives to the fullest in his honor. Farewell and rest peacefully, sweet friend, all the VIP seats are forever yours.

Percy was an amazing person. Our loss is so profound because of his great love for Debbie, Joseph, family and friends. What an example of positivity and kindness he was. We miss you terribly xo

Babe, I watched the video of the night you proposed. I smiled the whole time. It brought me peace. It was so beautiful! You did it all perfectly and I was surprised! Thank you for loving me. I know we both will love each other forever. I miss you. Roxie and Jax miss you, I see the Seahawks had a great win the other day. I am sure you had great seats! I love you.

Junior - Wow, still so in disbelief. You will be very missed. I’ve so enjoyed these Christmases and spending time with you and Debbie. I will always remember your resilient and infectious spirit. Thank you for sharing it with all of us. May you rest. :broken_heart::heart:

It has taken me awhile to write this. In my professional career I have never been as close to a customer as I was you. I called you friend and you truly were. It pains me that I was not able to see you in 2020 and I wish I could have done more for you. Our calls were always solid and uplifting. I miss those most of all. I will be there this year for your memorial and I will always have you as my friend. I miss you and that amazing smile! Barry Haines

You’ve been gone for a month now. This picture was last year in Seattle. We had a lot of fun. I love you and miss you.

If you listen carefully, you hear Percy singing, when Bruce looks at him. We were so excited! Thank you, Bruce!
