Ramona Jean (Taylor) Blevins age 94 of Parker, CO Passed away on Friday September 25, 2026 at the residence of her son in Union City, CA.

She was born on October 9, 1931 in Great Bend,KS daughter of Burnell and Lorena (Schleufer) Taylor. Ramona married Ellis Lee Blevins in Kansas where they started their family, eventually settling in California. Ramona was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was also a dedicated secretary for many years before retirement. In 1988 she and Ellis moved to Pioneer, CA in the Sierra Foothills and emersed themselves in an active retirement. She enjoyed her family including 5 grandchildren, friends, golfing, traveling, volunteering at the hospital thrift store and participating in her faith community Faith Lutheran Church in Pine Grove, CA.

Husband Ellis passed away in 2000 and in 2018 she moved from Pioneer, CA to live nearer to family. She resided in CO near where her daughter Shari and family lives. Periodically she traveled to CA as son Steve and wife Chris and son Aaron shared in her care as well.

Growing up in the “Sunflower” State brought many fond memories. She especially told stories of living on Uncle John’s farm and visiting there with her family every summer. Their dog “Bozo”, pig “Porky” and horse and chickens as well as growing Watermelons and Cantaloupe kept her and her sisters busy. Amongst her talents she was a tap dancer and played the organ. Ramona most recently shared memories when in May of 2025 she Shari and Steve and Chris traveled to Hudson, KS for a reunion with her sisters and their families.

Ramona was a member of the Mace Meadows Golf Club and enjoyed golfing with Ellis and Steve as well as in the Women’s Golf League. She was known by Ellis and Steve as “boom boom” She could really hit that ball pretty far for her slight stature. Ramona held the Women’s Club Championship Title at one time. Their travels took them on golf adventures with dear friends. They also traveled to National Parks and especially loved Utah. “Minnie Winnie” served them well.

Ramona cared for others in profound ways, always putting others first. She always provided delicious home cooked food and welcoming accommodations. Ask Steve about Fried Chicken and Gravy Sundays. Ramona joined her family in participating in volunteer opportunities such as Toys for Tots drives, cooking meals for senior citizens and supporting her grandchildren’s fundraisers with her time, talent and treasures.
