Entered into rest on November 8, 2012 in Tracy, CA at the age of 90. Predeceased by his wife of 66 years Ginny. Devoted father to Raymond Bernauer, Jr. and his wife Dede, David Bernauer and his wife Annette, and Diane Ferrell and her husband Jim. Beloved grandfather of Monica, Amy, Jim Jr., Kimberly, Davey, and Nolan. Treasured great-grandfather of Kristen, Emily, Jeremy, Ariana, Trinity, Bryce, Alexus, Nolan Jr., Alyssa, and Cole. Loving brother to Selden Bernauer, and Ruth Bernauer. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Born May 18, 1922 in West Allis, WI, Raymond was a member of the Kiwanis Club of Hayward and the California Teacher's Association. He umpired Little League from 1966-69. He was an organist and choir leader for many years. He was a very accomplished musician. He served in the Army during WWII as a Lieutenant and retired as a Major for the Army Reserves.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 14, from 4-8pm at Fremont Chapel of the Roses, 1940 Peralta Blvd., Fremont, CA 94536. A Chapel Service will begin on Thursday, November 15, 2pm at the funeral home. Private family burial at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Gustine, CA.
