Obituary For Reginald Leroy Johnson

Reginald (”Reggie”) Leroy Johnson, 49, of Fremont, California passed away on September 20, 2018 at his home after a long illness.

Reggie was born in Texarkana, Texas on June 15, 1969 to Billie Johnson and Sam Wright. He is survived by his spouse, Judi, his mother, Billie, stepfather, Raymond, his brothers, Geary, Quelo, Trevor, his sister Traci, three sons, Kalif, Isaiah, and Jeremiah, his daughter, Kyra, stepsons, David, Robert, and Jonathan, his grandmother, and numerous nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

His family moved to Oakland in 1978 and Reggie graduated from Oakland Technical High School in 1987. He worked at Sysco immediately after graduation and subsequently studied at Heald College obtaining an Associate Degree in Computer Technology in 2000. Shortly thereafter, Reggie joined Sanmina as Help Desk Manager for several years and later joined Arista as IT Cloud Manager. A recognized authority on computer networking, Reggie played a key role in the management of his department and was a valued and indispensible member of Arista.

Reggie loved sports and was an avid San Francisco 49er and Oakland Warrior fan. He loved the art of Kajukenbo. He taught and held a Black Belt in Kajukenbo.

Reggie was larger than life to us and words just cannot express how much we loved him.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, September 27, 2018 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 41933, Blacow Road, Fremont, CA. Family and friends are welcome to a gathering with refreshments in the parking lot immediately after the service.
