Obituary For Rev. Frederick L. Manning Sr.

Rev. Frederick L. Manning, Sr. of Antioch passed away on March 24, 2023 at the age of 75. Left to cherish his memory is his wife Josie M. Manning, his daughter La Shellé Renée Manning, his grandson Patrick Manning, his sister in laws Peggy Green, Debra Ponder and Paula Fuller, his nephews Sheadrah Leroy Manning III, George McArthur III., Babatunde Onadele Jr. and Jalen Ponder, his nieces Tuurischeva Green, Knecaya Green, Alice McArthur, Mattie McArthur, Abiola Onadele and a host of family and friends. Rev. Frederick Leray Manning Sr. was preceded in death by his parents Sheadrah Leroy Manning Sr. and Christine L. Manning, his brothers Sheadrah Leroy Manning Jr. and Wendell Manning, his son Rev. Frederick Leray Manning Jr., his mother-in-law Mattie Fuller, his brother in laws George McArthur Jr. and Albert Fuller Jr. and his sister-in-law Sharon Renee Onadele.

In his down time, he was an avid collector of many things, enjoyed watching movies, and watching the Raiders play, until they left Oakland....for the second time. After more than 39 years, Rev. Manning Sr. retired from Lucky's Stores and started his second career as a Security Officer. He worked for Peace Keeper's Security, On Time Security and most recently Strategic Threat Management. Rev. Manning Sr. received two humanitarian awards from his employer, Lucky Stores and numerous awards and certificates from his church.

The Homegoing Services for Rev. Frederick L. Manning Sr. will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2023 at 10:30 am at New Hope Baptist Church located at 925 F Street, Union City, CA 94587.
