Obituary For Richard Anthony Fragulia
Richard passed away peacefully at home on January 20, 2013 with his wife Sandra by his side. Born in Turlock, California and raised in Newark, California, Richard graduated from Washington Union High School in 1956.
After high school he worked for Mission Pipeline and then worked at the Lucky Cutting Plant in San Leandro for 24 years. After leaving Lucky's he worked for several years at Ohlone College. For all his life he was an honest hard working man and a good provider for his family.
Richard loved to be outdoors and nothing pleased him more than working in his garden. His hobbies included hunting and fishing as well as golf. He was an avid member of the Golden West Sportsmen Club. He was a real people person and never met a stranger. He loved football and his favorite team was the Rams. He also very much enjoyed the car shows and the Christmas Parade in the Niles district of Fremont.
He was predeceased by his parents Anthony and Laura (Williams) Fragulia and his sister Bonnie Hill. He is survived by his wife of 48 years Sandra and his two sisters Vivian Hermose and Ann DeHart. He also leaves three sons: Dennis, David, and John (wife Jerry) along with seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Additionally he leaves his brother in law Frank Pyeatt and his daughters Shelby, Carly, and Kristen as well as his sister in law Kathleen Lammon whose daughter Juliet put lots of smiles on his face and gave him the nickname "Toad".
Richard and Sandra attended Centerville Presbyterian Church in Fremont. A Memorial Service will be held for Richard on Monday, February 4, 11am at Centerville Presbyterian Church, 4360 Central Ave., Fremont, CA 94536. In lieu of flowers the family requests that you consider making a donation to the charity of your choice.
