Obituary For Richard "Rich" John Ernes
Entered into rest on February 7, 2013 in Fremont, CA at the age of 65. Devoted husband of 24 years to Sylvia M. Ernes. Beloved father of Sherrill (Roger) Root, Deborah (Jack) Root, and Jon (Jennifer) Smith. Loving grandfather of Kamilla Ortiz, Rebekah Root, Amanda Jill Oliver, Jennifer Gayle Herrera, Holly Cowan, Nicholas Smith, and Adam Smith. Caring great-grandfather of Christian, Hannah, Katrina, Gabriel, Abbigayle, David II, Justin, and Jordan. Cherished brother of 2 brothers and 1 sister Carol Johnson. Preceded in death by his brother-in-law Bruce Johnson.
Born March 23, 1947 in Brooklyn, NY, Rich was a retired locksmith and custodian from Fremont Unified School District. He was skilled in woodworking as well and enjoyed his craft very much.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 14, from 4-8pm at Fremont Chapel of the Roses, 1940 Peralta Blvd., Fremont, CA 94536. A Funeral Service will begin on Friday, February 15, 10am at the mortuary. Burial will follow at Irvington Memorial Cemetery in Fremont, CA.
