Obituaries

Entered into rest on October 21, 2012 in Union City, California at the age of 74. Beloved father of Marla Bailey of Fremont, Robert John Alesna of Los Angeles, and R. James Alesna of Los Angeles. Loving grandfather of Luis Campos, II, Gabriel Campos, and Zachary Bailey. Caring great-grandfather of Isaiah Campos. Dear brother of Cresencio Alesna and his wife Lorraine of San Bruno. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Preceded in death by his parents Constancio and Mabel Alesna.

Robert was generous to anyone with a need. He was a great cook and he loved passionately. He was born in Kekaha, Kauai, Hawaii in 1938. At the age of 19 he left Hawaii to join the United States Air Force and served for seven years. In 1958 he settled in California and never left; though Kauai stayed close to his heart. He hoped to return there to live his life out one day. In his retirement he enjoyed designing and making things to decorate his home, and because he was a perfectionist, his works were beautiful.

A Memorial Service will be held for Robert on Friday, November 2, 12pm at Fremont Memorial Chapel, 3723 Peralta Blvd., Fremont, CA 94536. Inurnment at Kekaha Community Cemetery in Kekaha, Kauai, HI.
