Obituary For Rosemary Ramsell

Rosemary Ramsell passed away peacefully at home on Friday, October 28, 2022. She was 100 years old. Rosemary was predeceased by her parents, her loving husband, Gene Ramsell, and her brother, Louis Sessa. She is survived by her children Gene Ramsell Jr, Jerilyn (Jim) Kroske, and Marilyn Manchester; grandchildren Darrell (Akiko), Carl, Jon, and Brian (Ester) Ramsell; Lisa and Rebecca Kroske, Matthew Manchester, and nine great-grandchildren.

Rosemary was born February 16, 1922, in Holtville, CA, to Alois Sessa and Rosalie Sessa-Bucher, who immigrated to California from Switzerland. Rosemary worked in the fountain at Cloverdale Creamery her senior year of high school and met Gene Ramsell, a Cloverdale milkman. After dating about one year Gene proposed, and they were married June 14, 1941. They celebrated their 70th anniversary four months before Gene passed away in 2011. Rosemary loved her Swiss roots and was very involved with the Swiss Park in Newark, CA. She organized a trip to Switzerland with about 164 Swiss club members in 1964, which was the beginning of her career as a travel agent. That job let Rosemary travel the world, which she loved.

Rosemary loved Swiss dancing, playing cards, and spending time with friends and family. Her home was always open to her many friends and relatives. She was a special lady who enjoyed life to the fullest.
