I am saddened to hear about Russell's passing. He and I worked together for about a year. He was, at his core, a very nice man.

I'm crushed at the news of Russell's passing...we worked together in Las Vegas and connected instantly over a shared sense of humor and view of life. We had some great times together and talked in early September when he called me out of the blue and though it had been years since we'd talked and hundreds of miles were between us, it was like no time had passed and two hours passed like it was a moment and we reminisced over many shared experiences and I'll always remember him for his kindness. He sent me a message the next day and told me to bring love into the world. Nothing but love Russell. I'll never forget you or the love you gave. 💔

I've been trying to think of something eloquent to say. This was such devastating news. I dated Russell in high school. We lost touch over the years but reconnected when Garrett became ill. The last time I saw Russell was in 2019 at our 25 year high school reunion. The last time we spoke was just a couple weeks before he passed. It was a great conversation filled with hearty laughter about the trouble we used to get into when we were kids together. I now treasure that conversation. I have tons of memories of Russell but what stands out the most is how he loved to make people laugh and he had a wonderful way of looking at things a little differently. One thing that has always stood out to me was how thoughtful he was with gifts. When we were teenagers he bought me a beautiful ring. I later found out that he sold his baseball cards to get it. I couldn't believe it. That's the kind of person Russell was. As adults, he was a good friend. He is dearly missed. My heart goes out to his family.

My husband and I met Russ about 20 years ago. At the time we lived in Fremont and Spencer and his lovely wife, Tracie, were hosting a wine event in their home. My husband and I had begun a sojourn into wine ourselves and we were so excited to have met Russ. He was newly certified and had an amazing palate. We were in awe of his skills and tried in ernest to fool Russ once or twice in blind tastings. We learned so much just tasting and comparing with Russ. He would blindly be able to call out the wine type - even down to the location he thought the grapes were grown by identifying characteristics found in soil and climate in which the grapes were grown. He really did have a rare palate and was talented at extracting qualities in wine by smell alone. It inspired me to further my own wine knowledge and I began my own wine pursuits to really learn and understand the nuisances in farming. That led to my own certifications in wine, and eventually a career in the industry. Both my husband and I were saddened to hear of his passing. Our thoughts are with his family and friends who knew and loved him most. May the memories you hold dear, bring about peace and comfort. All our best, Ruben and Lisa Lee
