Entered into rest on January 20, 2013 in Fremont, CA at the age of 90. Devoted wife of 66 years to Lester Cornett. Beloved mother of Dixie Rohrman of Fremont, Donna Cornett of Santa Rosa, and Darla Cornett-Ravella and her husband Bruce of Monte Rio. Cherished grandmother of Alexandra, Analise, and Anthony. Dear sister of Samuel Burns of Sacramento. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her daughter Dale Cornett in 2010 and her son-in-law Mark Rohrman in 2012.

Born May 23, 1922 in Nebraska, Shirley was a member of Swiss Park for many years. She was very active with Holy Spirit school when her girls were young. She enjoyed traveling with her husband all around the world.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, January 24, 11am at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 37588 Fremont Blvd., Fremont, CA 94536. Burial will follow at Irvington Memorial Cemetery in Fremont, CA. Donations may be made in memory of Shirley to the American Lung Association in California, Greater Bay Area, 424 Pendleton Way, Oakland, CA 94621.
