Obituary For Steven David Pinto

Steven David Pinto was born September 19, 1984 in Hayward, CA, to David and Heidi Pinto, the youngest of three children. Steven grew up in the Niles area of Fremont and was fortunate to forge many deep friendships in elementary school that lasted throughout his life.

Steven joined the United States Marine Corps in 2005 and proudly served two tours of duty in Fallujah, Iraq with the 3rd Battalion 5th Marines, as an infantryman. Upon his return and discharge from the Marines, Steven worked multiple jobs in the construction industry while also studying carpentry at Laney College and earning his associate's degree at Heald College.

Most recently, Steven worked at the VA San Francisco Medical Center in the engineering department. He loved the beauty of San Francisco and found it meaningful to work at the VA where he could contribute to the well-being of fellow veterans. Steven had an enormous heart and lived a vibrant life; his greatest joys were riding his motorcycle, and spending time with his many friends and large, extended family.

Steven is survived by his parents, David Pinto and Heidi Griffin, his sisters Kim Scott and Stephanie Stuart, and his dog Harley.

A memorial service and reception will be held in honor of Steve on Friday, June 20. The memorial will begin at 11am at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 38451 Fremont Blvd., Fremont. A reception will immediately follow at Swiss Park, 5911 Mowry Ave., Newark. You can RSVP for catering purposes at basicinvite.com/site/stevendavidpinto
