Obituary For Susan B. Coffey
Susan B. Coffey was born in Oakland, California on February 26, 1945, and entered into heavenly rest on January 10, 2025. She was a Fremont resident for over 50 years.
Preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth & Marguerite Marcum and her daughter Melissa M. Coffey.
Survived by her daughter Merrily Rypstra; son Curtis & Rosamond Coffey; and daughter Kendra Coffey. Grandchildren, Kenny & Amanda Rypstra; Courtney & Shawn Eagen; Quinntin and Briana Coffey; Madison Coffey; Westin Coffey; and Christian Coffey-Dodd. Great grandchildren, Barrett, Kayleigh and Deacon Rypstra; and Eliette Coffey.
Susan worked for the Hayward Unified School District for over 30 years.
You will be dearly missed! We love you.

Dearest Coffey Family, I can't begin to tell you how Susan impacted my life. I had the absolute pleasure of working with her at Ochoa Middle School. Since she worked in the office her radiant face greeted me upon my arrival! Susan was always so encouraging. I had many talks with her and they always led back to her family. She always talked about her children and grandchildren. You were immensely loved! Oh, how she doted on all of you! When I heard of her passing I was saddened, and I knew that I had to be at her memorial service. I had to honor this great woman who made my life so much better! From the moment I glanced at Susan's picture that was displayed at the front of the church a flood of emotions overtook me. Although, I will miss Susan deeply her amazing legacy will live on. As the service unfolded and her children and grandchildren went forth recanting their fond memories Susan once again empowered me to be the best child of God that I could be. Susan truly lives on in each of you! Susan ran her race well and will continue to do so as we reflect on many fond memories! Love to you all! Lisa Kelley
